Bethenny Frankel from The Real Housewives of New York City has weighed in on her alleged feud with Bravo executive Andy Cohen, saying they’re still friends even though he is likely annoyed about her new Real Housewives podcast. The RHONY alum and her former boss began working together in 2008, when the show premiered, and have developed a personal relationship since then. Bethenny has recently referred to the Bravo franchise as “toxic,” but surprised fans by announcing a Real Housewives-themed podcast titled ReWives. The Watch What Happens Live host seemed shocked about the news on his radio show, Andy Cohen Live, saying the Skinnygirl CEO has been trashing RHONY for years.

On Tuesday, the business mogul sat down with Today With Hoda & Jenna co-hosts, Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. They discussed Bethenny’s new CNBC show, Money Court that she stars in with Shark Tank‘s Kevin O’Leary, and addressed Andy’s recent remarks about her podcast. In the segment, Hoda said she noticed Bethenny was trending on Twitter in regard to a possible conflict with the Bravo host over her negative housewives comments. Bethenny quickly stated that the pair are still friends, saying, We totally are pals, and we take beach walks.” The BStrong founder said she texted her former boss when ReWives was coming out. Bethenny claimed Andy responded with a text saying he’s glad that Bethenny is embracing the show, referring to her previously saying she’s glad to no longer be a part of the franchise.

Bethenny Frankel and Andy Cohen Are Still Pals

Bethenny told the morning show hosts Hoda and Jenna,“I’m glad that I’m not there, I also do get the right to talk about it because I did it for a quarter of my life.” The former housewife also clarified her alleged trashing of the show saying, “I didn’t really trash the housewives. I said that it was toxic for me at that point.” According to the reality star, RHONY has changed significantly from when she was on it at the beginning, with more conflict and drama than before. Bethenny did acknowledge that Andy “is probably a little annoyed” with her new venture, and implied that his grievances are due to the podcast’s success.

Andy is not the only Bravo personality to take issue with Bethenny recapping iconic housewives moments on her new podcast. RHONY cast member, Luann de Lesseps, dissed her former co-star and called the podcast “pathetic.” Bethenny’s other fellow RHONY castmate, Carole Radziwill, also had nothing but negative things to say about the venture, and poked fun at its lack of originality on Twitter. Once close friends, Carole and Bethenny’s falling out unfolded on RHONY, and despite no longer being a part of the show, Carole remains vocal about her dislike of Bethenny.

Bethenny is a mother of one, author, producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and television star, and seems unbothered about any negativity coming her way. Bethenny’s massive success has been built from her extremely loyal fan base, who are excited to consume anything the former The Real Housewives of New York City star creates. The multi-hyphenate’s fame quickly rose after the first season of RHONY, with her witty one-liners on the series. This earned Bethenny two Bravo spinoff shows and contributed to her numerous impressive business ventures. Many fans see the shots fired from other so-called “Bravolebrities” as being fueled by jealousy. Bethenny is the main breakout star of The Real Housewives franchise, and the perfect source for a housewives podcast.
