IT COULD SET GOING FORWARD. RIGHT NOW, A MAJOR TRANSFORMATION IS UNDERWAY INSIDE MILWAUKEE’S FISERV FORUM FOR THE REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION. NOW, LESS THAN TWO WEEKS AWAY, 12 NEWS HANNAH HILYARD IS LIVE THIS AFTERNOON IN THE DEER DISTRICT. AND HANNAH, THE CHANGES ARE NOTICEABLE BOTH INSIDE AND OUT RIGHT, PATRICK. IT IS EASY TO SEE THE CHANGES FROM THE OUTSIDE OF FISERV FORUM YOU HAVE GOP BANNERS WRAPPING AROUND THE ENTIRE EXTERIOR OF THE ARENA, BUT NOW, LESS THAN TWO WEEKS OUT, WE ALSO TODAY GOT A SNEAK PEEK AT THE TRANSFORMATION TAKING PLACE INSIDE. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS. THE STAGE TAKING SHAPE ON THE FLOOR OF THE ARENA. THE RNC SAYS THE CENTERPIECE IS 60FT WIDE AND 24FT TALL. PARTS OF IT SECURED TO THE FLOOR WHILE OTHERS SUSPENDED FROM THE CEILING. THE SCREENS THAT WILL BE THE BACKDROP FOR PRIME TIME, MADE UP OF 1200 LED PANELS, BUT STILL A LOT TO GET DONE IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. IT LOOKS DIFFERENT ALMOST EVERY OTHER DAY WHEN YOU’RE HERE, BUT IN TWO WEEKS WE’LL HAVE THE FLOOR SET UP. WE’LL HAVE SEATS OUT FOR OUR DELEGATES, ALL THE MEDIA BOOTS WILL BE SET UP. WE’LL HAVE THE MEDIA MOVED IN. SO YOU’LL SEE CAMERAS AND TV ANCHORS AND SUCH MOVING AROUND. AND WHILE THE STAGE REALLY BUILT OUT, WE’LL HAVE THE PODIUM BUILT OUT. WE’LL HAVE THE LED PANELS UP WITH DIFFERENT GRAPHIC DISPLAYS EVERY DAY. RIHANNA HAS TAKEN THEM ABOUT A MONTH TO GET THIS FAR RIGHT. PATRICK CRUZ, THEY MOVED INTO FISERV FORUM THE BEGINNING OF JUNE, BUT FROM WHAT I WITNESSED TODAY, THAT STAGE IS REALLY NOT

Inside Fiserv Forum: A sneak peek at the Republican National Convention transformation

RNC officials said crews have been working around the clock for a month to get the arena ready for primetime.

With less than two weeks until the start of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, sister station WISN got a look at the transformation happening right now inside Fiserv Forum. The downtown arena will host the RNC’s primetime events July 15-18, and RNC officials said crews have been working around the clock for a month to get it ready. “Fiserv is going to look dramatically different than what you would see during a Bucks game or something like that,” RNC Deputy Communications Manager Kush Desai said. The centerpiece is a stage now standing 24 feet tall and 60 feet wide with 1,200 high-density LED panels.”It’s partially floor-matted, partially hung up from the ceiling,” Desai said. “It’s very large and a very kind of creative display that I think kind of captures the grandeur of our vision for the party and for the country.”It’s from the stage former President Donald Trump will accept the Republican presidential nomination. Delegates seated on the arena floor will vote to make it official, and thousands more will fill up the permanent seats. “That will be alternate delegates. That will be officials. That will be guests. And, of course, we will have plenty of members of the media; 15,000 members of the media will be coming to Milwaukee to cover our convention,” Desai said.WISN is one of them with a constructed platform overlooking the stage. With a lot of work left to do, Desai said he is confident it will be done ahead of July 15.
