The program provides “smart” wild hog traps for use on private agricultural and forestry land in Mississippi. The Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce provides the training necessary to use the traps and guidance on the best methods to trap and control wild hogs on private lands. Landowners and property managers can complete and submit applications online through May 15. The applications will be evaluated based on the number of acres available for trapping, historical agricultural losses caused by wild hogs on the property and current trapping efforts on the property.
