Belhaven hires former JA basketball coach to lead the Blazers
Josh Brooks is the new head coach of the Belhaven men’s basketball team.

THIS YEAR AS. ALL RIGHT, NOW TO SOME LOCAL COLLEGE HOOPS. THE BELHAVEN BLAZERS HAVE A NEW MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH AND HE’S SOMEONE WITH STRONG TIES TO THE METRO AREA. FORMER JACKSON ACADEMY BOYS BASKETBALL COACH JOSH BROOKS IS THE NEW HEAD COACH OF THE BELHAVEN BLAZERS. BROOKS PLAYED COLLEGE BALL AT MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE AND GOT HIS MASTER’S AT BELHAVEN. THE MEMPHIS NATIVE WAS AN ASSISTANT AT BELHAVEN IN THE EARLY 2000, THE PAST FOUR SEASONS. HE WAS THE HEAD COACH. HE LED THE RAIDERS TO THE OVERALL STATE FINALS LAST SEASON AND ANOTHER OVERALL SEMIFINAL APPEARANCE IN HIS TENURE WHERE HE WENT 9 TO 1 IN 48, EDGING. BROOKS WILL TRY TO REVIVE THE BLAZERS PROGRAM. Former Jackson Academy boys basketball coach returns to Belhaven to become the next head coach of the men’s basketball program. Josh Brooks is the new head coach for Belhaven hoops.
