Bachelorette alum Blake Horstmann describes meeting and building a romantic connection with Giannina Gibelli on All Star Shore a “nice surprise.”
Reality television star Blake Horstmann has described his connection with Giannina Gibelli on All Star Shore as a pleasant surprise. Fans met Blake when he joined Bachelor Nation and competed for Becca Kufrin’s affection on season 14 of The Bachelorette. Meanwhile, Giannina appeared in the first season of Love Is Blind. She got engaged to Damian Powers during the season, but their relationship went down the drain. Blake and Giannina might have felt that their love wasn’t on reality TV heaven, but the stars did not know they were searching for love on the wrong shows.
Blake and Giannina became well acquainted during All Star Shore’s production in 2021. The show follows several reality personalities competing for a cash prize. However, Blake and Giannina were notably quiet on social media during this time. However, by January 2022, several reports confirmed that the reality TV personalities were dating. Blake and Giannina later confirmed they were an item in April. Giannina posted a picture on her Instagram Story. The snap showed her posing with Blake during a European getaway. In the photo, Blake wrapped his arms around Giannina while she slightly blocked his face with her hand.
Recently, Blake appeared in a virtual junket for All Star Shore and opened up to Page Six about meeting Giannina on the show. During the interview, he said it was a nice surprise to find romance with Giannina on the show. Blake explained, “Nothing was forced. That was one of the coolest things because I’ve been on some other shows where things aren’t necessarily forced but … you’re put in situations where they want a certain result.” The 33-year-old said All Star Shore was almost opposite from other shows in that the cast was urged to get away from each other and focus on the competition. Hence, it was much more fun and genuine, which he greatly enjoyed. Blake could hardly believe what he witnessed and was “waiting for the other shoe to drop” during production. However, that never happened. He confessed that it was a nice surprise and then gushed about Giannina, saying, “And she was a nice surprise and what we built throughout the show was a very nice surprise.”
Giannina also participated in the virtual junket and stepped in and out of Blake’s Zoom frame during the presser, though the lovebirds were in different rooms for the interview. During the chat, Giannina confessed that she could not resist Blake’s charms while shooting the upcoming Paramount+ reality TV series. The Love Is Blind alum explained that she did not expect to find someone she would easily gravitate towards. However, when she saw Blake, she couldn’t resist seeing him every day. Giannina also noted that the “risky games” on the show only made her attraction to the Colorado-based DJ stronger. She also teased about their time on the new show, “I think at the end, you’ll feel what we felt which was just a very genuine and very true thing that you’ll have to tune in and watch.”
Blake and Giannina are clearly smitten with each other. It is quite interesting that the TV personalities found love on All Star Shore, a party competition series, instead of their other reality shows, which were about finding love. With Blake and Giannina further confirming that their feelings are genuine, one can only hope the relationship lasts long and is one of total bliss.
