Byram’s Swinging Bridge Festival returns for the 16th year

The city of Byram held its annual Swinging Bridge Festival Saturday. The two-day event kicked off on Friday. “Today we have been really blessed, it got a little warm around 1 p.m. but overall it’s great,” said Byram Mayor, Richard White. The festival featured car shows, fireworks, carnival rides and numerous vendors. Charissa Amos said this is the third year she’s sold jewelry at the festival, and she enjoys it.”We have carnival rides and so much food. It’s so much to do,” Amos said. “We have a lot of people out here that ask a lot of questions cause they want to know about our city,” Mayor White said. The mayor said this is the 16th year of the festival and it’s a great event to bring community members together.
