A new clip from Cobra Kai highlights the return of the Karate Kid villain, Mike Barnes. With new episodes of the Emmy-nominated dojo drama just days away, season 6 will see Sean Kanan back in the role of Mike Barnes. The actor made his franchise debut as the major antagonist in 1989’s The Karate Kid Part III, though he turned a new leaf when he returned as a recurring guest during Cobra Kai season 5.

Entertainment Weekly has unveiled a new clip from season 6, which debuts its first five episodes on July 18. Barnes is using a bit of a tough-love approach to hype potential participants in the Sekai Taikai tournament. Although he’s fighting alongside the good guys, Barnes’ teaching methods can be tough. He startles some of the young karate fighters, including Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo). This leads Daniel (Ralph Macchio) to suggest that Barnes should take a more positive tone, to which Barnes says: “You came to me. The deal was, my way or the highway.”
