Nobody knows better than community and what they need. That’s my philosophy. When a young person reaches the court, there are opportunities that have been missed to engage in the intercept that young person before they find themselves before the youth court What I wanna do is engage those sections of the community before they get to the court what can we do to identify those young people so that they don’t have to interface with the youth court,” said Hocks. It’s 2 out of 4 convenings. The next one is July 27. A location has not been sent, but Judge Hicks says they’re aiming for rural Hinds County.
