A man’s life was changed instantly when he had a motorcycle accident, however, one hobby has helped him piece his life back together, brick by brick. The accident left Mingo Graham without most of his mobility. It happened 10 years ago and Graham broke his C-6 vertebrae, which left him paralyzed before the waist and frozen in a sideways position.”My brain lives on the side now. It doesn’t live in its normal spot anymore,” Graham said.After arriving at a rehab home in Anchorage, Graham did not come out of his room for eight months, however, when he did, he was able to piece together a new life one brick at a time. With only his finger, thumb and mouth Graham was able to build amazing Lego creations.Graham’s first Lego build was a Harley motorcycle, just like the motorcycle he was riding the night of his accident. “They give me motivation when I’m unmotivated,” Graham said. Life is a galaxy of whys and a tsunami of what-ifs, and just like Legos, building back life for Graham is picking up the pieces and trying to find the right fit. “People are always blown away by my attitude and positivity,” Graham said.

“My brain lives on the side now. It doesn’t live in its normal spot anymore,” Graham said.
