Damaging winds, hail possible as storms move in

We continue to watch the threat of severe weather Thursday night. Heavy rain and storms will pick up well after dark, between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. The worst of the weather will arrive between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Ingredients for severe weather will be diminishing overnight, so it’s a race against time for storms to intensify. A few strong or severe storms will still be possible, especially along and south of Interstate 20. Areas north of the metro will see less of a threat for potent storms.The biggest impacts will be damaging gusts up to 60-80 mph and large hail. The tornado threat remains minimal. Any severe threat ends well before sunrise Friday morning.
