Day 1 2022 Hot Rod Power Tour! Memphis! Alex Taylor, Emily Reeves, Junkyard Digs, Thunderhead289!

The theme of this week is certainly going to be, IT’S HOT! As you hopefully saw in our drive down videos it is a sweltering heatwave across the entire eastern half of the US but today dialed it up just a little bit more! With Day 1 of the 2022 Hot Rod Power Tour in Memphis! Crazy temps are just one more of the crazy challenges we will have to all face this week as we attempt to make the long haul in BOTH the 1970 Pontiac LeMans AND the 1979 AMC AMX!

First off let us just saw we really enjoy running into fans and watchers, it’s extremely flattering, and a little unreal how many people watch and enjoy our content. So thank you to all of you! Hopefully you all are enjoying these daily look backs on the event as well.

Today was “check in day” which for thousands of us meant standing in a 1-2+ hour line in crazy heat to get our credentials, other than that it also gave an opportunity to walk the show and meet up with some other Automotive YouTubers we’ve connected with in the past. We found the Flying Sparks Garage Betty Boop Bronco and Emily Reeves, then Kevin of Junkyard Digs… then Luke of Thunderhead289, also Alex Taylor and even caught a bit of The Feller Himself Derek of Vice Grip Garage rolling in to the DEI tent. The YouTubers are out in force again this year!
