Amazing Fall Perch Bite

We had a very special trip this week. We got out on the Mississippi River to jumbo perch, and we were able to bring longtime friend and guide Big Dave Ehardt along with us. Dave spent a lot of time on this river when he was attending college, as well as afterwards before he settled in Wisconsin Dells to start guiding. There weren’t any perch back then, so Dave was very excited to get out and get after these fish.
Capt. Vince Moldenhauer is our perch guy on the Mississippi, both on open water and ice. The fall bite has been getting better and better each year, and we hit a perfect day in terms of both fishing and weather. Vince does tell us that as the temps drop, the fishing gets even better, which is hard to believe, since we had a 3-man limit in just a few hours of fishing.
