Family of Dau Mabil demanding answers into the death investigation

Concerned family, friends and supporters of Dau Mabil, from all over the country, gathered outside the Capitol Police headquarters to raise awareness about the case of the Sudan native and Belhaven resident Saturday. Mabil went missing in March after a walk, and his body was found in the Pearl River in Lawrence County more than two weeks after his disappearance. Capitol Police, who is responsible for the investigation, said no foul play had been involved and that the investigation had been closed. And now we understand that the investigation is still open, and we want to make sure the investigation stays open, and we are asking for federal intervention.”Dau’s wife Karissa Bowley reported him missing. After his body was found, his brother Bul took Karissa to court to prevent cremation of the body so an independent autopsy could be performed.But Dau’s body has still not been released to the family.After the press conference, a prayer vigil was held at Museum Trail to honor Dau’s life. But everyone connected to Dau wants to find out what happened so they can find closure.
