Flooding closes Lefleur’s Bluff State Park

Operators at the Ross Barnett Reservoir said the waterway went from being half a foot low last Tuesday to now half a foot above what they consider to be normal levels. The Pearl River Water Supply District said it had reduced the outflow with the spillway gates but still needs to lower the lake another foot to create room for the next rain system. Lefleur’s Bluff State Park remains closed due to the rising Pearl River. Multiple events and reservations had to be canceled. Operators with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks said the area could be closed until at least next Monday.
