Flying with Your Pet? Get a Health Certificate: Atlas's Visit to Tier 1 Vet

Booking.com

Don’t forget to get your pet’s health certificate, typically within 10 days of travel, before you take off! Atlas and his owner recently visited Tier 1 Veterinary Medical Center to get his Health Certificate before flying to Florida.

Most airlines require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (health certificate) issued within 10 days of travel. Federal regulations mandate that pets must be at least 8 weeks old and weaned at least 5 days before flying. The health certificate, signed by an accredited veterinarian, ensures your pet is free of infectious diseases and meets all import requirements of the receiving state, territory, or country. For international travel, USDA endorsement of the certificate is often required.
