The latest trailer for Harley Quinn season 3 details more of the plot, raunchy jokes, DC homages, and a first look at the superhero Nightwing.

The latest trailer for Harley Quinn season 3 gives a better look at the series, including the first look at Nightwing voiced by What We Do In The Shadows star Harvey Guillen. Two years since the season 2 finale of Harley Quinn saw the title character and Poison Ivy drive off into the sunset after acting on their feelings for one another, season 3 of the series is almost here. The season premieres on HBO Max on July 28, 2022.

Details about Harley Quinn season 3 have been brief, with it known that performers like Guillen, Griffin Newman (The Tick), and filmmaker James Gunn will appear in the series. It feels like more is known about what got cut from the season including a joke about the MCU and Thanos and most notably a reference to Batman performing oral sex on Catwoman that DC made them cut. With the new season just two weeks away, the marketing has finally started to ramp up with more trailers to remind audiences to tune in when it premieres.

HBO Max has released a new trailer for Harley Quinn season 3. The trailer gives a better look at the overall arc of the season, with the emphasis on Ivy’s plan to transform Gotham City into a new green paradise but one that might create a wedge between her and Harley. The trailer also opens with narration from Dick Grayson aka Nightwing and the end of the trailer shows him suited up and coming face to face with Batman, with Batman questioning Nightwing’s attempt at doing a serious crime fighter voice. The trailer also reveals Joker’s subplot in the story, as he attempts to become Mayor of Gotham City, and includes a fun callback to the iconic staircase dance scene from 2019’s Joker, even down to the red suit. The trailer also hints that Bane, one of the series’ breakout characters, will join Harley’s crew as a replacement for Doctor Psycho who turned out to be the main villain at the end of season 2. The series creators have said this season will see a homage to Batman: The Animated Series and the trailer showcases one scene with the iconic red skies from that series.

While the previous Harley Quinn trailer sold more of the same raunchy and irreverent take on the DC universe that audiences expect in the series, this trailer is much more about selling the plot. Worth noting is that Harley Quinn season 3 is reportedly 10 episodes, three episodes shorter than both previous seasons. Despite Warner Bros. Discovery canceling and reworking many projects, there is a good chance Harley Quinn is safe with the news that the character of Kite-Man will get his own series. Harley Quinn appears to be going strong and hopefully will be on for years to come.
