Heavy rain picks up late Thursday, clears Friday morning

happy thanksgiving everybody. We kicked off this morning with temperatures anywhere between the upper forties and our easternmost counties to 60 degrees and matches 57 in Jackson. The good news is, we have some sunshine out there to kick off the morning, but those clouds will end up increasing and become more so overcast by around lunchtime today. So temperatures will go from 69 by noon into the low seventies. In the Metro. This afternoon, temperatures across the magnolia state, ranging between the upper sixties closer to tupelo, the Golden Triangle and the mid seventies over towards Hattiesburg matches and down towards mccomb rain chances pick up later on this evening though. So if you’re heading out and about this evening for any festivities or if you’re traveling to the Egg Bowl, you’re gonna want to grab the reindeer, especially up in Oxford temperatures are going to be staying in the fifties. So it’s gonna be *** cool rain and that rain looks to hold steady throughout not just the first or second quarter, but for the entire duration of the game. So again, if you are traveling to the Egg Bowl later on today, do drive carefully, especially if you’re coming back tonight. So rainfall totals look to be anywhere between about 1 to 4 inches for wave 11 to 3 inches for wave two. Now, those higher rainfall totals are gonna be *** little bit more isolated. So widespread wise for the first two rounds of rain, we could see anywhere between 2 to 5 inches of rain and Jackson alone, we have *** four inch deficit for fall rainfall so it is very possible, very much possible. By the end of the weekend, we could actually fill in that gap with the rainfall that we are expected to see today and saturday. Again, we’re not done with the rain just yet. After saturday we’ll have *** little break in the rain sunday monday with the sunshine returning and then as we go into the middle part of the week, guidance is *** little inconsistent right now. On the timing and strength, however, we are looking at our third wave moving on through Tuesday into Wednesday that providing the possibility of some thunderstorms.
