The Boys season 4 has been teasing Homelander’s journey to the White House for a while now, but season 4, episode 5 solidified Homelander’s supe army, the final piece of set up that this storyline needs.

In episode 5, Ashey and A-Train frame Cameron Coleman as being the source of the leak from within Vought. Because of this, Homelander has Coleman brought to the top of Seven Tower, where he instructs the supes on the team to kill him. The unquestioning supes follow his order, brutally beating and presumably killing Coleman. Homelander commanding these supes could be a tease of Homelander being the captain of a supe army, with the murder of Cameron Coleman being a smaller-scale version of Homelander’s insurrection with his supe army.

In A Different Way From The Comics

Before the release of the season, it was highly speculated that Homelander would run for president in The Boys season 4, setting up the scary possibility that he would be voted into the White House. Now that the season is halfway over, this storyline seems unlikely. However, Homelander’s supe army could set up another way that Vought’s prize supe could make it into office. If Singer and Neuman are voted in, Homelander could lead his supe army to D.C., adapting his comic book story with a twist.

Upon getting there, Homelander could kill Neuman and Singer, with his insurrectionary attempt leading to him taking over the country. This would allow Homelander to be president without having to be voted in, which is a more realistic story path for the world of The Boys. Much like other times that The Boys has changed the original comics, this would be a way that the Amazon series could adapt the broad strokes of the source material while changing many of the finer details.

Homelander’s Supe Army Makes Gen V Season 2 Way More Important

Cate & Sam’s Lives Have Changed Forever

Homelander’s supe army will undoubtedly have a big impact on The Boys, but the same can be said for Gen V, as the storyline will make Gen V season 2 more important. This is because, as season 4, episode 5 shows, Sam and Cate are part of Homelander’s supe army, with them being around during Cameron Coleman’s death. Sam and Cate are two characters who attended Godolkin University and led the Godolkin riots at the end of Gen V, with Homelander showing up and siding with the two students.

Since Gen V will most likely feature Sam and Cate again, the season could follow Marie and the gang as they attempt to convince their friends to stop following Homelander. Sam and Cate are the connective tissue between the two shoes, so it is likely that their actions in The Boys season 4 will have an impact on Gen V season 2. It isn’t yet known how much Sam and Cate will appear in the rest of The Boys season 4, but just episode 5 already has had a massive impact on Gen V.
