Lingcod is one of the fishes in Stardew Valley that can be slightly tricky to catch during the Winter season. The fish is often found in the River running through Pelican Town or Cindersap Forest. You can also catch a Lingcod the Mountain Lake towards the north. But catching a Lingcod can be quite tricjy as it is has a 85 Difficulty rating in Stardew Valley.
Lingcod is also used to complete two specific quests in Stardew Valley. The first is “Catch a Lingcod” from Willy, rewarding players with 550g and a Friendship Heart upon completion. Another quest is “Aquatic Overpopulation” from Demetrius, which tasks players with catching a specific number of fish depending on the season. You might need to catch 10 Lingcod to complete this quest, and you will get a significant reward.

stone bridge leading to the town library, the wooden plank bridge near JojaMart

If you are still unable to find the elusive Lingcod, you can purchase the Fish from Krobus for 200g on Wednesdays or at the Traveling Cart for 360 to 1,000g. You can access Krobus’ home in the Sewers once you have received the Rusty Key from Gunther. This event occurs after 60 items have been donated to the Stardew Valley‘s Pelican Town Museum. The Traveling Cart appears in Cindersap Forest on Fridays and Sundays, near the entrance to the Farm.
Finally, Lingcod can also be caught regardless of the current Season by fishing and using baits. You can also use a Bait Maker to create some Magic Bait which words well for capturing a Lingcod. The Bait Maker is one of the new cool items added to Stardew Valley and could also help you make lots of money via fishing.
