If you didn’t know, the company is also rich in history. They started in 1971 as Bed ‘n Bath, selling specialty linens and bath products from a small store in New Jersey. Soon enough, they started to expand their store locations and the store sizes themselves. Eventually, they rebranded their name to Bed Bath & Beyond to include a huge selection of brands and products in various colors and styles — a one-stop shop kind of deal in home goods.
So you can imagine they know a thing or two about what you need for your wedding registry. Here’s how you can start:
How Do I Sign up for a Bed Bath & Beyond Registry?
It all starts with your email. Register here with some basic information. Once you enter your and your spouse’s information, you will receive an email to confirm the completion of your registry. This will also automatically sign you up for their MyFunds benefits program, which comes with some great perks and discounts like free shipping and expert advice.
Once created, your registry will be set public. So if you’re hoping to keep it private until it’s properly filled up with items, you can go into your settings and privatize the list.
And right now, couples who build a register through July 31, 2022 will receive $100 in MyFunds when $500 worth of products have been purchased from their registry. My Funds rewards will be awarded after all items have been shipped or picked up and are valid for 30 days.
How Do I Build out a Bed Bath & Beyond Wedding Registry?
Before you actually start the process of adding items, we recommend making a list of what you already have, what you don’t have and what you want to have.
If you’re already living with your partner, it’s best to do a walk-through of your home to see what you do and don’t have. From there, think about if there are items that you’ve held off on buying or items you’ve been waiting to upgrade for something better quality or a newer model. If you don’t live with your partner yet, we recommend making a list of items that you need starting from basics like dishware to items that you know will make your life a little happier. It could be that fancy Kitchen-Aid Mixer or as practical as a trash can for your bathroom.
A rule of thumb is to have at least one gift on your registry for every household you invite to your wedding.
Once you have a list set, head into your registry in Bed Bath & Beyond. You’ll find sections that will help you begin adding items and also see curated lists of popular products and entire collections that you can easily add to your registry.
You’ll also see a checklist on the right side of your browser as you add items. This will help you keep track of all recommended items and their quantities.
What Is the Shipping and Return Policy for Bed Bath & Beyond Registries?
Registry orders over $39 will ship for free!
And for wedding registry purchases specifically, you can exchange or return items within 365 days of purchase, for merchandise credit. Essentially, you’ll have the utmost flexibility with deciding whether or not you ultimately want something in your newlywed home. And it gives you more time to make returns than Bed Bath & Beyond’s standard return deadline, which is 90 days from purchase.
Note that any returns you make on wedding registry gifts will be in the form of merchandise credit, meaning you must use it at Bed Bath & Beyond.
What if I Change My Mind About a Registry Item?
Before you even ship, exchange or return items, there is a Ship or Swap option for wedding registry users that they can opt into in advance. This only applies to gifts that are opted to be shipped directly to the couple. When a guest purchases an item from the registry and chooses to have it shipped to you, you’ll receive credit into their My Funds account that is equal to the purchase amount. You can use this chance to either complete the registry gift or if you change your mind you can use those credits to swap for a different item.
This could be a great way to ensure that you get exactly what you want without worrying about making returns or exchanges. For example, if someone gets you part of the dining set you register for, but nobody else gets you the rest of the set, you might use the MyFunds dollars from someone else’s purchase to complete the set.
Does Bed Bath & Beyond Have Group Gifting?
They most certainly do. When you build your registry, you’ll automatically be opted into group gifting. Any item valued at $100 or more will be eligible for group gifting — and automatic free shipping since it’s over $39.
While you can definitely add gifts with a higher price point, you want to make sure that there’s something for everybody. Within your registry dashboard, you’ll find a “Analyze my Registry” link at the top right hand corner. If you click that button, a detailed chart will pop up. You’ll see exactly what price ranges your items are within and if you’re missing items in certain ranges, you can easily add more to your registry.
What Discounts Come With the Bed Bath & Beyond Registry?
All registered couples have nine months to complete their registry. After your wedding date, you’ll receive a 20% off coupon that can be used on an entire order to purchase any remaining items on your list. It’s one of the higher completion discounts you can get from various registry sites.
In addition to discounts, Bed Bath & Beyond offers bonus gifts through their vendor bonus program. Qualified items like Kate Spade New York, Lenox and Cuisinart that are purchased through your registry will be eligible for bonus gifts.
Once you meet the required purchase amount for each brand, you’ll be able to redeem the gifts online or through the Bed bath & Beyond app.
