Clinton Police said an investigation is underway after an infant was found dead at the Econo Lodge hotel on Clinton Center Drive.A spokesperson for the city of Clinton said the infant was found deceased Tuesday morning. The Hinds County coroner believes the 2-month-old may have died from asphyxiation, possibly as a result of co-sleeping.Police said they are talking to the mother of the deceased infant.An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.
