‘A Day to Die’ filmed in Jackson

A new movie filmed in Jackson is set for release this month.The trailer for “A Day to Die,” starring Bruce Willis, Kevin Dillon and Frank Grillo, dropped Thursday on YouTube. The opening shot is of the Jackson skyline and continues with a shot of Willis with Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba in the background and a voice saying, “Jackson’s police chief is taking questions now,” and a group of actors playing reporters and photographers.The movie, which was filmed last spring in downtown Jackson, tells the story of a disgraced parole officer, played by Dillon, who is forced by a local gang leader to pull off a series of heists within 12 hours to pay back the $2 million he owes and rescue his kidnapped, pregnant wife.Willis plays a corrupt police chief. The film, which is being released by Vertical Entertainment, features car chases and explosions – scenes shot in Jackson as residents watched.
