A Jackson Firefighter is dead following an apparent domestic dispute. Sunday, Jackson Police Department responded to call of a nonresponsive person at a home on Ferguson Drive.According to Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade, Tammy Williams, 41, barricaded herself inside the home after shooting the firefighters whose identity has not been released.Initially, several law enforcement agencies responded to the scene to assist JPD, including Capitol Police, Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, and Byram Police Department.Officers attempted to negotiate with Williams for more than an hour, but she remained noncompliant while carrying a gun throughout the house.Wade said S.W.A.T was notified and deployed tear gas before forcing entry into the home and taking Williams into custody.Officials also say an aggressive dog was killed during the incident.Chief Wade said Tammy Williams will appear in court Monday.This is a developing story.
