A man who pleaded guilty to attacking a Rankin County woman will spend the next 20 years in prison.James Allen Enochs, 32, was indicted as a violent habitual offender, which meant if he was convicted at trial, he would face life in prison without the possibility of parole. Bubba Bramlett, district attorney for Madison and Rankin counties, said Enochs elected to plead guilty on Jan. 17 to sexual battery and was sentenced to 25 years, with 20 years to serve day-for-day and five years of supervised probation. The victim’s daughter reported the incident on Feb. 21 to the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, saying that Enochs sexually abused her mother. “It was reported that the abuse took place at the victim’s home in Florence,” Bramlett’s office said in a Tuesday release. “The victim knew her assailant through her adult son.” Bramlett praised the victim’s daughter for coming forward to report the crime.
