Man who left body in a trash can after fatal shooting sentenced
A man convicted in a 2020 murder has been sentenced to life in prison. David Lee Course was convicted of first-degree murder earlier this month in the February 2020 shooting death of Bernard Williams. Williams’ body was discovered in a trashcan in the backyard of an abandoned home on McDowell Road after being shot by Course. The Hinds County District Attorney Jody E. Owens said in a news release that Course was also indicted as a serial habitual offender, “including but not limited to manslaughter and armed robbery and will never be eligible for parole.”Owens said Williams’ death was tragic and senseless.
