Mace is facing Katie Arrington, a former state representative. Arrington was endorsed by Trump back in February, claiming that “she has the tremendous backing of almost all who know her — especially when she is compared to Nancy Mace!”Mace, however, has former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who was also the ambassador to the United Nations under Trump’s presidency, in her corner.

Polls have closed in South Carolina, the first state to wrap up tonight.
