Poison singer Bret Michaels shares update on his hospitalization

welcome to show everyone. I’m Daryn Carp and with me today is the unmasked banana unmask singer, rock star himself, bret Michaels, how you doing Brett, I’m awesome. You got me fired up right now, I’m ready to go, you’re my first standing interview. I’m liking this. I gotta ask, you know, you look amazing in quarantine, how has quarantine been going for you? You know what? I, knowing we are all truly in this together, just mentally staying in the game, staying positive. Um you know, again giving me time to actually do some stuff around my ranch in the house and so I’m just keeping positive by diving into stuff. I’ve repainted the end entire sport court. I have fixed every single engine of go kart motorcycle worked on the car. Uh let me just say this. I found out I’m *** hoarder, I had no idea, I thought I just like I called it collect apparently I collected *** lot and so I’ve managed to organize, I won’t get rid of it, but my O. C. He won’t let it go, but I’ve managed to organize the hoarding now Brett, I’ve got to ask you about the masked singer because you were unmasked as the banana on last week’s episode, you know, you’re an international rock star, everyone knows your name, why did you sign up for the show? And what was that experience like for you? First of all, I just want to say to everybody, I absolutely absolutely love doing the Mass Singer, I love the show before I was on it, I would love it this season if I wasn’t on it, I love the masked singer, it’s incredible! And number two, I want to say the reason I wanted to do it because it gave me *** chance to go out there and have the best time ever. I got to be *** living, breathing, real life Avenger um, and go out there completely masked, I’m like *** modern day peter parker, Spider man, I mean you are, you’re the first banana Avenger I’ve ever seen and you played it off Well brad, I gotta ask, you know, you went up against the rhino, were you worried going into the night? Well here, here’s what it is for me again, I go into every one of those performance does 1000% we are really all, I have no idea who the other Mass singers are. Zero. Their secrecy, everyone in that show treat you great, it’s fun, but they are sworn to secrecy, like, you don’t know who anyone is, you travel back stage almost like in *** dark Vader costume. I mean, no one can see you talk to you. I felt like the ghost, I literally, I would pass people, I’ve known forever, Producers crew, even some of the people on the bret Michaels solo tour and poison tours are Riggers are light triggers were working on the show, I just saw them *** few months ago and they’re walking right by me, zero clue who I am. And it it is the strangest thing because like I said, I’m like, how you doing? How’s your family keeping quiet was my toughest thing. And then when you go out on that stage, everyone that’s on there is given 1,000% From what I understood, there was no one complaining, everyone wants to go and make it till the end. And so for me to go on there, I just gave 1,000%. It is hot and sweaty in that mask, I’m not gonna lie, it is, you are sweating £5 off, right? And uh, but I had the best time, you know, *** couple of the judges actually guessed your name, you know, and you and Sharon Osbourne have obviously been friends for *** while, but were you expecting jenny Robin and Nicole to know it was you as well. Here’s the thing, this is your one of the first few people I’ve talked to about this when I walked out there and I saw Sharon, I knew I was in trouble. Now the socials all had me 99 to 1 that it was made from the beginning, so I’m like, I gotta keep throwing them off, I’m gonna do everything I can to throw him down every different path. But when I walked out there to do knocking on Heaven’s door and I saw Sharon up there, I didn’t know that was going to be the the the celebrity guest Panelist and I’m like, oh I’ve done *** million shows with her, not just tv, but out on the road, We’ve been friends and I’m like, she’s gonna figure this out really quick and and so I went out there and tried to do everything I could, but my brain inside that mask was going perform well, but how are you gonna throw your voice to throw her off and your movements And uh and I thought this could be it, this tonight could be it, this could be the real knowing of who I am under the human as the human Bandana banana you bandana banana. I like that *** lot. You know, you mentioned you perform knocking on Heaven’s door and that actually happened to coincide with the one year anniversary of your brain surgery. Was this an emotional performance for you? It was, and to be brutally honest, I never knew that they would line up like that, you know that it is the 10 year to the moment celebration of surviving the subarachnoid brain average um literally on the West Coast when they played, when I was performing knocking on Heaven’s door that I never knew, never knew this would line up, I’m performing it. That is the exact moment that they were operating on my skull on my brain uh with the brain bleed, trying to save my life out of ST joseph Barrows, it was what an incredible moment that they almost lined up at the exact exact same time and how grateful I am to be here talking with you and on the good side of the dirt, amen to that. You know what *** good moment to catch and what *** great moment for you. You know, you’re keeping busy. You’re also releasing an autobiography may 12th title bret Michaels, auto scrap photography. Uh, you know, do you talk about the brain surgery much? What do you go into in the book? Everything this book. First of all, I wrote every single story myself. I wrote them out on paper. I don’t want to say old school, I just literally wrote them out. I wrote out, I wanted every chapter that pictures the reason it’s called an auto scrap biography volume one. I wanted to be *** continuum of my life. There’s so much changes for me in *** moment, in *** moment. And so to be able to write about everything, there’s even up to including the masked singer. It includes talking about going through the coronavirus thanking all of our front line and our first responders and talking about everything in that book from birth. I was one of the very few people, very few people that I’m finding out born *** cheeks first so I can’t make this up. My mom verifies his story. The, but was the first thing to see the light of day and then the biblical cord wrapped around my neck and they literally flipped me around and I came out as *** breech baby. Right. So I thought right there that what *** great way to open this book. It just starts out chapter one I was born *** cheeks first and from there it can only get better. It’s so fitting. No wonder you’re *** rock star. You can survive an umbilical cord wrapped around your neck and still rock out. I love it fred you know, I know you’ve been doing *** lot of charity work through your life. Rocks Foundation what *** great cause what can you tell us about it? Here it is. Life Rocks Foundation started out of *** diabetic since the age of 66. My mother and father so influential in my early life. They went and formed *** diabetic youth camp. There was very few kids like me, *** lot of my friends, awesome and still friends of this day when I first got it. Their parents weren’t sure if it was contagious. You know, here I am taking In four and 5 injections *** day, checking my blood 10 times *** day. And so my parents taught me how to stay mentally positive. That’s the first start and it’s helped me throughout my entire life. Too many things I’ve been through And so it’s also all this is an auto scrap biography as well. But that started my life Rocks Foundation from the day one when my career started, I got involved in every charity in every city we played in to help one out and I continue to do it to this day as if you couldn’t get any cooler bret Michaels, thank you so much for joining us today. You’re an absolute rock star. Of course, I love talking to you. I love talking to you and thank you for being awesome and positive in your house rocks. Please be safe. All right, thank you so much bread. People. Don’t forget to watch the masked singer Wednesdays at 87 central on Fox and you can pick up Brett’s new book bret Michaels, The auto scrap geography, May 12th.
