Things have been rough in the Green Lantern corner of the DC Universe ever since the Guardians of the Universe disappeared and control of the Corps was assumed by the United Planets. Unbeknownst to the Corps, the United Planets’ Lord Premier Thaaros began an attack on the Emotional Spectrum, targeting various Corps’ Central Power Batteries, starting with the Sinestro Corps. Sinestro wound up stranded on Earth, unable to channel the Yellow Light of Fear. However, during a battle with Green Lantern, Sinestro managed to channel the Red Light of Rage and ventured off into an unknown part of the galaxy.

When Sinestro tapped into the Yellow Light of Fear, he was intimidating, but he was always collected and could easily restrain himself. But as his first experience with the Red Light showed in Green Lantern, Sinestro’s mental state became just like most other Red Lanterns, savage and bloodthirsty. That spells bad news for Korg, who has wanted nothing more than a chance to meet Sinestro and prove that they’re related. While the villain looks calm in his spiffy new Red Lantern suit, if Sinestro is still a Red Lantern, Sinson might not survive his first meeting with his father figure.

Korg’s Greatest Wish is Going to Become His Worst Nightmare

Sinister Sons Korg DC

While Korg is a resilient lad and he’s got the Kryptonian Lor-Zod by his side, that might not be enough if things go south when Korg meets Sinestro. Sinestro is already one of the finest ring-wielders in the DC Universe. But if his mind is lost to the rage connected to the Red Light, then Korg could easily wind up getting killed by Sinestro. Hopefully, the Green Lantern villain has found some way to hang onto his mind, otherwise Sinestro’s possible son is in for a rude awakening when he meets his role model.

Sinister Sons #5 is available on June 11th from DC Comics.
