A glitch in a statewide computer system that prevented county tax collectors from issuing some license plate decals has been resolved, according to Hinds County Tax Collector Eddie Fair.Fair said the problem started with the Mississippi Department of Revenue.People who wanted to renew a license plate that expired at the end of the month couldn’t do so for the first few hours of Friday morning.Fair said the computer was printing out decals with the wrong month. For instance, if someone wanted to renew a tag for June 2025, the computer printed a sticker for May 2025 instead.WAPT spoke with several people who left the Hinds County Chancery Courthouse frustrated when they were told they would have to come back later. Later in the morning, Fair said the problem had been fixed and the system was back to normal.
