Storms knock out power at water plant, JXN Water customers asked to conserve water

JXN Water, the agency running the City of Jackson’s water and sewer systems is asking customers to conserve water. The agency made the announcement Friday morning after a spokesperson said powerful storms knocked out power at the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plant. According to JXN Water spokesperson Ameerah Palacios the full impact is unknown. “We expect reduced pressure and possible outages may affect those who are at higher elevations in the surface water system first,” Palacios told 16 WAPT News. JXN Water says they are assessing the impact, and residents can expect reduced water pressure until it is restored
