Sunny skies but still chilly with highs in low 50s, clouds increase overnight

16 WAPT’s Meteorologist Adam McWilliams has the latest forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

alright temperatures this morning. Starting out below freezing for many areas were at freezing here in the Jackson area, temperature right around 32 degrees twenties up in our Delta counties. Cloud cover still holding on down here across our southeast counties. That cloud cover will quickly decrease during the day. Today is still going to be *** chilly day though temperatures only in the low fifties for highs around here, low pressure area which gave us the cloud cover yesterday and the gulf of Mexico is now moving away from from us and we have high pressure to our north Still we have *** northerly wind flow keeping that cooler air in place and that will be around for tomorrow as well. There’s the water vapor showing that cloud cover slowly decreasing away from our area. So I do expect mainly sunny skies area wide as we head towards the afternoons, drier air begins to work in. So here’s the feature cast warming up through the forties, will be in the low fifties this afternoon. We have cloud cover that will be in to increase again late this afternoon into this evening as we have another quick moving disturbance that will move overhead tomorrow and that could give us *** chance to maybe *** late evening shower, late afternoon, late late evening shower on your monday. And then we have *** warming trend that starts as we head towards thanksgiving. So 53 today we’re gonna be in the thirties for tonight and then we’ll be near 55 on your monday. Still gonna be *** cool feel despite temperatures *** little bit warmer, You see that disturbance passing through and then we have the numbers that really warm up into the sixties. On Wednesday. We have rain that arrives on thanksgiving day with the front that’s going to be moving through. Not gonna be *** widespread rain threat, not going to be *** washout, just some scattered showers around and then cooler and unsettled. As we head towards the weekend temperatures will be down in to the upper fifties. So the temperature trend is, we start climbing up and then we cool back down below average. We should be near 66 this time of the year. So for today becoming sunny still on the chilly side though, highs only in the low fifties tonight, increasing clouds with those temperatures down in the thirties. And there’s your seven day forecast. And as we head into thanksgiving our next big rain threat and that moves out for black friday with cooler temperatures
