Since she hit a major weight loss milestone, losing 420 pounds, Tammy’s a whole new woman. In season 5, she showed her big heart by helping her sister Amy Slaton (who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder after the installment aired) with her kids, toddler Gage and baby Glenn. Tammy’s still a diva now and then, but more and more, she’s about having fun and looking on the bright side. She seems to find more beauty in the world.
In 1000-Lb Sisters season 5, Tammy started to play. She began to experiment with life, taking her first boat and plane rides. There were still things she feared, such as going into the water at the beach. She also had to deal with the heartbreaking loss of her ex-husband, Caleb Willingham. However, Tammy’s a survivor. Offscreen, Tammy’s moving on in a courageous way. She’s doing TikTok dances and fun unboxings. Tammy’s her own person and doesn’t need to stick with the lifestyle she used to have.

When Tammy put on a Hello Kitty shirt at TikTok, she showed her appreciation for a cartoon that’s become a pop culture phenomenon. In Japan, there’s even a Hello Kitty amusement park, Sanrio Puroland, where fans can pose with the characters (Hello Kitty and her friends), enjoy themed food and beverages, and go on rides that evoke a non-threatening and very “kawaii” (cute) spirit.
Anyone who enjoys quirky amusement parks will love the video shown above (via TDR Explorer at YouTube), which details a fan’s time at Sanrio Puroland. While Tammy probably hasn’t visited that amusement park yet, now that she’s moving with ease and taking more chances, she may get there some day. No matter where she roams, she’ll probably love her new, post-bariatric surgery life.
If Tammy makes it to Sanrio Puroland, she’ll already have the perfect top for the occasion.
Tammy, who recently dressed up as Minnie Mouse, wore a Hello Kitty shirt featuring the titular feline character, as well as Hello Kitty’s frog friend Keroppi. Kuromi, who’s a little bit edgier (but not much!) also appears on the gray t-shirt. Whether Tammy’s rocking Disney or Sanrio attire, she’s all about letting the good times roll. Until she hit her weight loss milestone, life wasn’t easy for Tammy. In fact, she considered ending her life.
Hopefully, all of those dark thoughts are gone. It’s understandable that she felt despair. Society is so cruel to people who are overweight. Tammy’s had more than her fair share of being treated as though she’s subhuman for failing to meet the world’s current beauty standards. Now, she’s able to enjoy her body more. She smiles more too. Tammy’s quite charming when she’s cheery.
Tammy always had hidden depths, and her haters may not realize that she’s actually quite sensitive. So, they should go easy on the reality star. She’s on an amazing weight-loss journey and Tammy doesn’t need to be put down right now. She needs supportive fans who care about her health and well-being.
