In the latest thrilling episode of “Tracker,” tension and mystery unraveled at a dizzying pace, keeping viewers glued to their screens. The episode kicked off with an innocent encounter at a college party that quickly escalated, setting the stage for a complex and engaging narrative.

Colter headed to Wyoming after learning that a college student named Blake had mysteriously disappeared following the party. Initially believed to be taking a break from his academic pressures, Blake’s sudden vanishing became alarming when Colter learned from Blake’s mother about the immense pressure he had been facing from a significant research grant and his battle with anxiety. The situation took a darker turn with the revelation that Blake may be struggling with schizophrenia, echoing his family history.

As Colter dug deeper into the university setting, viewers were finally introduced to a significant new character, Dory Shaw, Colter’s estranged sister and a professor at the university, portrayed by the talented Melissa Roxburgh. Their reunion brought unresolved family issues to the forefront, particularly concerning their father’s mysterious past with the government—a subplot that added layers to the main narrative. The folder uncovered that their father had multiple legal issues and had worked for the government for seven years—a fact unknown to them. Dory expressed a desire to move past this revelation, not wanting it to disrupt her life. However, Colter insisted on the importance of uncovering the truth. Dory suggested that if he wants to connect with the past, he should finally speak to Russell. A suggestion that Colter wanted no part of.

Colter’s investigation led him into the academic underbelly of the university, where he discovered that Blake had been accused of falsifying research data. This revelation at the lab was intertwined with a personal crisis when Colter learned about Blake’s romantic entanglement gone awry, involving catfishing and dangerous liaisons orchestrated through the dark web.

The plot thickened as Colter, with the aid of Billy and the girl behind the catfishing, Irene, uncovered a sinister plot involving Blake’s professor. The professor was the one who falsified documents and Blake uncovered what he had done. Now the professor wanted to ensure that Blake stayed quiet. The climax was as intense as it is cinematic, with Colter and Dory racing against time to save Blake from a dire fate in a bomb shelter beneath the university. The episode concluded with a dramatic rescue, leaving viewers deeply satisfied with the resolution.

The best part about this episode was that it delved deeper into Colter’s backstory, a development long-awaited by viewers. During a dinner with his sister Dory, tensions surfaced as she accused him of harbouring resentment towards her for leaving with their aunt instead of staying with him and their mother. Dory argued that their mother was not an unwilling participant in their father’s schemes; she willingly went along with everything he did. Urging Colter to move past these old family dynamics, Dory emphasized the need for reconciliation between the brothers and insisted that Colter speak with Russell to uncover the real story. She asserted that their mother had been deceptive about their father’s past and that connecting with Russell is crucial for the truth.

Despite Dory’s pleas, Colter remained skeptical, unable to accept that his mother might have misled him. Dory, persistent, pleaded with him to reach out to Russell one more time. Colter didn’t deny feeling resentful towards his sister; however, it was evident throughout the episode that he hasn’t made any attempts to maintain their relationship, having ignored her calls and texts for more than a year. The deep fractures in their sibling bond, a result of the trauma inflicted by their parents during their childhood, underscored the necessity for them to come together. By seeking the answers they need, they can truly begin the healing process and hopefully restore their relationships with each other.

This episode not only pushed the narrative forward but also delved into the complex past of the Shaw family. Tonight’s episode might just be the best yet, masterfully intertwining Colter’s current cases with revelations about his past—a development eagerly anticipated by viewers. This instalment of “Tracker” solidified its status as one of the most gripping dramas on television. Over to you, Tracker fans! What did you think of tonight’s episode?
