Black said that he works on the Treasure Coast and believes that half a billion dollars worth of treasure is still out there.”The story, I believe, is that there’s more silver and gold treasure on the bottom of the sea than above it,” Black said. Black even gives advice to aspiring treasure hunters as to where to look for hidden treasure.”The best beach would honestly be Miami. If you’d rather get a metal detector, then do some research,” Black said.The best time to go looking for buried treasure is after a storm because the storm will clear up a lot of the renourishing sand. It will uncover the treasure that is usually hidden several feet underneath the sand. Black said that he runs some treasure boats out of Sebastian, Florida, and has hired two captains, one of which is the grandson of Mel Fisher and the other captain was a part of the Atocha Salvage.
