University of Kentucky student among 151 killed in South Korea Halloween crowd surge

An international tragedy has claimed the life of a University of Kentucky student.More than 151 people so far have been confirmed to have died in the crowd surge that happened at a Halloween celebration in Seoul, South Korea on Saturday.Among them was Anne Gieske, a junior in UK’s nursing program.UK President Eli Capilouto informed the campus community via a letter on Sunday afternoon of Gieske’s death in the incident.”We have been in contact with Anne’s family and will provide whatever support we can now and in the days ahead as they cope with this indescribable loss,” said Capilouto.”We will be there for those in our community who knew and loved Anne.
