Weather impact day issued until the weekend as feels like temperatures stay over 100

16 WAPT’s Christana Kay Meteorologist has the latest forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

we have made it to the middle part of the week yet. It’s gonna be another day of the same heat and same weather. We are looking at temperatures around seven o’clock this morning in the mid seventies dewpoints also in the mid seventies. Very uncomfortable feeling like this morning and that is only going to continue into the afternoon earlier this morning. We have actually seen an excessive heat warning being issued for the northern part of the state. This is now included into the Delta and are far northwestern counties for is *** queen, *** Sharkey, humphreys, Yazoo and Holmes County. This is extended into thursday evening. Reason why is because you have wake up temperatures in the mid to upper seventies and then high staying in the mid nineties with real field values as high as 1 15. We are looking at real foot vis all across central Mississippi for the next several days to be in the triple digits. Regardless if you live north are far down south, we will end up getting back into the mid to low nineties today. Some areas will see rain, but not everyone specifically our Delta counties today. There’s those feels like temperatures up to 1 12 in Bel Zona, 109 in Jackson, *** smidge cooler down south, 103 in basketball, 102 in Macomb. Even then when I say cooler, it’s still very hot out there, it feels like temperatures again, triple digits all across the board. So showers and storms will pick on up later on today, but notice *** lot drier in spots. Not everybody will see *** hit or miss storm this afternoon, but anybody that does see rain today, especially during the heat of the day along and south of I 20 should see those rain showers fizzle on out shortly after sunset tonight temperatures going back down into the mid seventies tomorrow morning passing clouds and then those dangerous real field values return for tomorrow and into friday and into saturday 106 as the feels like temperature in Jackson tomorrow 1 10 possible in val zona and Yazoo city. Now after tomorrow things are gonna be reassessed for friday and saturday. I think everybody is either going to be in *** heat advisory or an excessive heat warning because we meet the criteria for friday. You have those feels like temperatures at 1 11 Belzoni, Yazoo City and Vicksburg as well. 107 in Jackson and even our southern counties as well between 105 and 107 possible. That is the criteria for real field values or that heat advisory to be issued. So those shaded in orange for friday and saturday, most likely going to be in that heat advisory negotiated in red most likely for that excessive heat warning. This dangerous real field conditions continue into the weekend as well. Now sunday I do think we have *** slightly better chance of seeing showers and thunderstorms as compared to the rest of the week. But even then that’s not going to be dipping our temperatures much if any, staying in the mid seventies in the morning, mid nineties in the afternoon, with real filled ice in the triple digits and right.
