Wednesday Evening Weather

16 WAPT Meteorologist Christana Kay has the latest most accurate weather forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi

we had *** big warm up today, temperatures getting to the second warmest wake up weather in third warmest afternoon highs getting into the low eighties earlier on this afternoon, 82 degrees is what we hit exactly in Jackson. That stalled boundary just keeping that warm air across much of the deep south. The rain staying to the north and the cooler conditions all the way back towards Indianapolis, Chicago and over towards Wichita Oklahoma city has been in the forties all day long Memphis in the sixties, seventies. For us here in Jackson and Shreveport staying in the low eighties as of around 5 30 this evening, we’re finally starting to see those temperatures go down but it’s *** very slow process. It’s gonna stick like that for the next couple of hours. Eventually we will get down into the sixties but it won’t be until like the middle part of the evening 69 by 8 67 by nine o’clock this evening, clouds in the mix tonight but another warm wake up weather outlook 64 degrees waking up highs in the afternoon back to the upper seventies low eighties again, not record breaking but getting fairly close to it across parts of central Mississippi. So here’s the setup as we head into the rest of the week and into the weekend we have an area of high pressure down towards the coastline that’s providing what we call *** subtropical jet pretty much that brings the flow of enough tropical moisture to provide rain chances across parts of the Southeast. It’s mainly been in parts of north Georgia over towards the Carolinas Tennessee and north Alabama. However, we’re gonna have *** cold front swing on through by friday. This will start to drop that subtropical jet down towards our neck of the woods. However, these two interact with each other so what happens is rain chances pick up by the weekend, temperatures cooled down but still expected to be above average. That’s not our only system either. We have another set up going into next week, an area of low pressure developing off the pacific Northwest by this weekend, that’s going to drag down the west coast line and eventually cross the rockies by next week, this is going to be the cold front to watch right now, showers and thunderstorms possible with this, some guidances are showing the possibility of the strengthening to *** stronger set up across parts of the Southeast and over in two parts of texas and Oklahoma. It’s something definitely to watch. But another thing we’re watching back behind the setup is Canadian air heading down south. That means temperatures finally taking *** tumble slightly below average, possibly as we head into the middle part of december. Your seven day forecast. While we do cool on down by the weekend does still stay above average fifties in the morning seventies in the afternoon rain, chances will be possible each day going into your saturday sunday and into next week again we’ll watch that cold front, carefully heading into your Tuesday and Wednesday
