Wednesday Evening Weather

16 WAPT’s Chief Meteorologist David Hartman has the latest most accurate weather forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

All right, we’re just getting started with this hot weather today. The hottest recorded high temperature in Jackson as of this recording 90 for the high and it looks like it’s gonna get hotter. Let’s talk about it. Not much cloud cover today and there was some stray clouds giving way to an isolated cellar to across eastern and southeastern Mississippi. But the big story continues to be hot, high pressure, the hottest air today across south Carolina Georgia and into Alabama. These temperatures getting close to 100 and then that heat extends into northeast Mississippi as well. And there you can see the large area of hot air Chicago 96 ST louis 97 in Atlanta was very close to 100 degrees today. And unlike yesterday, not *** whole lot of thunderstorm activity. There’s just going to be *** stray isolated shower or thundershower through the early evening hours won’t last long shouldn’t amount to much here. You can see the late afternoon temperatures with tupelo at 98 Hattiesburg 90 form already in 97. Real field numbers at or above 100. Isn’t that 100 110 degree range which we have in forecasting and that will continue for *** couple more days. Greenville 94 gulf coast, even along the water, it is hot and steamy and you can see how brutal those real fuel numbers are across Alabama. It’s *** temperature forecast. I still think tomorrow with temperatures in the mid nineties and the real field up around 100 and five, there’s an opportunity for at least our best opportunity for scattered showers and thunderstorms during the heat of the day and there you can see as we head into the weekend, maybe *** little drop in the real field. There is *** chance That slightly drier air comes in and gives us *** little break of the sultry conditions. So we’ll continue to watch for that. But it looks like the actual air temperatures will continue to be very, very high. In fact, next week, this area of high pressure may intensify and we may see temperatures between 95 and 100° for next week. So monitoring that situation and it does look like we’ll finish out the month right into early july, with this area of high pressure Creating very warm conditions above average and below average rainfall down here in the Caribbean still looks like there could be development, but with that hot high pressure over our region no threat to it coming up this far 70 for hazy summer, moonshine. Again, just *** slim chance of an isolated shower. *** few thunderstorms developed late afternoon and early tomorrow evening. And then again over the weekend, may see the humidity drop *** little bit that will drop us into the 60s. But look at those high temperatures mm
