They’d applied for a visiting visa and Kobe went back to Cameroon and Emily went back to the U.S. where she moved in with her parents. Some fans were skeptical about Emily’s claims of Kobe being an international underwear model. A fan alwaysjessybaby commented, “Every foreign guy in China is a model respectfully, from an expat currently living in China” on a post about Emily talking about Kobe’s job on 90 Day Fiancé Instagram. No photos from Kobe’s modeling assignments were shown on screen either which made fans further suspicious. However, Kobe shut down the rumors himself by posting a throwback picture from when he was working as a model on his Instagram in April 2022.

“It was really fun during those days.”

Kobe’s photo showed him striking a pose on the cover of an Asian magazine. He wore nothing but black boxers with some cutout design on his hips. It’s possible that Kobe wasn’t consistently working as a model and did other jobs to support himself while in China. Kobe has shared one or two pictures of himself modeling undergarments, and it could be that Emily wanted to focus on the glamorous job instead of what else Kobe did to earn money when he met her. He might have also modeled for catalogs and not for big magazines at the time.
