Hannah Berner fled the Hamptons after Summer House season 5, and unfortunately, many are happy to never see her back there again. After the Wirkus twins left the series, Bravo brought in a few new cast members to shake things up in the Hamptons house. The new housemates were friends of Amanda Batula, one of them being Hannah. Hannah’s most memorable drama was her fling with Luke Gulbranson, which did not end well. The tension between the two grew so much in Summer House season 5 that Hannah was done with the series after that.

Shortly after leaving the show, the now stand-up comedian went on to marry fellow comedian Des Bishop. The pair met right before Hannah started filming Summer House season 5, and the two were a match made in heaven. Not only is her personal life thriving, but Hannah is a successful comedian and podcast host. Her and current Summer House star, Paige DeSorbo, host their wildly famous podcast Giggly Squad, and the pair have gone on multiple tours with their podcast. While many are happy to see Hannah off the show, she seems just as pleased about it.

However, if Hannah wanted to return to Summer House, fans would not give her a warm welcome back. Reddit user TeresasDorters7 expressed the desire to see Hannah back despite her worst moments airing in season 5, writing, “I’m down for a redemption arc!” Unfortunately, few other fans agreed.

“Nope, can’t stand her. She was never funny or interesting. She just thought she was. So full of it. Ugh,” one fan responded. Others agreed that they never found the Summer House star funny and thought she was “awful” during the three seasons she appeared on the series. One Reddit user who knew how much other fans disliked Hannah wrote, “You’re brave for sharing this opinion on this sub.”

While Hannah joined Summer House as a friend of Amanda’s, the two are no longer in contact. Things went south during Summer House season 5 when Hannah clashed with Amanda’s now husband, Kyle Cooke. In one fight, Kyle uninvited Hannah from his and Amanda’s wedding. The two made amends, and Kyle reinvited her. However, when the wedding took place in September 2021, Hannah was not present. One fan in the Reddit thread did say they don’t understand all the hate she receives, though others had plenty of reasons why she receives such negative feedback.

Hannah was certainly different than what many were used to seeing in the series. She’s more outspoken and has a bigger personality than her costars, which is why she clashed with so many people. This could be why so many Summer House fans don’t like her. However, there are also many valid reasons why she gained so much backlash. While Luke has his faults and is responsible for what went down during Summer House season 5, there were many moments where Hannah refused to own up to what she did wrong and continually put the blame on Luke.

Despite the viewers no longer wanting Hannah on Summer House, it seems she’s much happier off the show; in fact, she’s a huge success. Since Hannah exited Summer House season 5, Hannah has gone on to be a successful stand-up comedian. Hannah has been on tour several times in the last three years, traveling across the USA, Canada, and other countries for her comedy tours. According to Hannah’s website, she is headed to the United Kingdom at the end of May, playing three shows in England and Ireland.

Hannah filmed a Netflix special but the release date is currently unknown.

Her stand-up has done so well that Hannah will also be filming a Netflix special, according to Variety. The special was taped in Philadelphia at the Fillmore on March 23. Hannah has also interviewed several celebrities for her TikTok, including Hailey Bieber, Jesse McCartney, Jennifer Lopez, and more. She and Paige also have their podcast, Giggly Squad, which the two have done several shows for as well. The reality stars have also gone on tour for their podcast, with their most recent tour called Hate Men World Tour beginning in September 2024.

Will Hannah Ever Return To Summer House?

As for whether Hannah would ever return to Summer House in the future, that seems highly unlikely. Since leaving the show, Hannah has done exactly what she’s always wanted to do: make people laugh. Her success as a stand-up comedian is quite admirable, and she wouldn’t want to jeopardize her success by returning to her former job. Hannah no longer needs Summer House, especially since the show was so toxic for her. However, a nice cameo with Paige would be interesting to see after she’s been off the show for so long.

While a few fans may want to see Hannah back on the show, it would be better if she didn’t return. She seems happier now, enjoying her life with Des, and luckily she’s still close friends with her Summer House costar Paige. She brought a lot of good drama to the series, but the Hamptons house didn’t seem like a healthy environment for her. If Hannah ever does decide to return to the reality series, she’s gonna have a lot of unhappy Summer House fans to deal with.
