Aspyn Osse says her grandmother was falling asleep, slurring words and sweating

In April, Aspyn Osse jumped into action when she saw her grandmother, Meredith, falling asleep in her seat, drooling, slurring words and sweating.”I was like, ‘Oh God, ‘ grandma does not look good. So I called my mom on FaceTime,” Aspyn said. “She said, ‘OK, I’m calling 911, go get grandpa.'””And then I got ice packs and put them on her. And poured water down her shirt. Yeah, I was scared when it happened, but now I’m happy because she’s here,” Aspyn said.Her grandmother was experiencing severe dehydration and low blood sugar. Aspyn’s actions saved her from going into septic shock and organ failure. On Wednesday, Aspyn received the Girl Scout’s National Lifesaving Medal of Honor.
