Nestled against the Mississippi River in the very northeast corner of Iowa is the Yellow River State Forest. The rolling bluffs and creeks provide for scenic overlooks and good hiking. On this trip, I spend 3 days backpacking and seeing many miles of this area. Below normal spring temperatures provided some challenges. I also gained 5 pounds from all the good food on this trip. 🙂
