The Addams Family made a hit comeback with the Netflix success Wednesday that already piled up millions of views and equal internet reactions from fans. The show walks the audience through a detective mystery hunt story starred by Wednesday Addams and her own novel character. Accompanied by the infamous Thing, she navigates a new school, high school drama and cliques, as well as an unusual amount of socialization for a usual introvert like herself.

Predictably, fans were quick to jump on the meme bandwagon and create the funniest yet very relatable memes that portray both applicable feelings for fellow viewers, but also the storyline of the series as a whole.

The Show Is A Monochromatic Masterpiece

In true Addams Family fashion, the whole eight episodes are splashed in monochromatic black, from the family’s fashion style to Wednesday’s bedroom decoration, nail polish, and even ball gown.

As the meme by Betches on Instagram puts it, black is the new pink. Wednesday is an interesting character to look up to for teenagers and young adults, her black fashion style dragging with it her passion for writing and her witty replies. In addition, Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday is capable of solving mysteries, and her loyalty toward friends is commendable. So following in her footsteps wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

Enid Brings A Splash Of Friendly Color

As much as she would probably still hate to admit it, Wednesday made a friend for life in Enid, as the werewolf-in-the-making brought a whirlwind of colors into the Addams’ daughter’s life. From their bedroom to Enid’s colorful own hair, makeup and clothes, the rainbow was well welcomed by fans.

Twitter reactions on Wednesday and Enid’s friendship weren’t the only ones. As Lifeisnotpink_ puts it, Enid brought sunshine to Wednesday’s cloud, and it worked out perfectly. Just like every blonde needs a brunette, every brooding character needs an equally chipper partner to balance out the friendship and complement each other.

Wednesday And Enid: An Opposites Attract Friendship

Enid and Wednesday’s differences don’t stop at their choice of outfits; they are literally polar opposites in terms of personalities, characters, and even families. Ultimately, their differences are what cement their friendship.

As zememememememe puts it here, their contrast is exactly the type of friendship duo needed on television to relate to. Friends can be alike, but more often than not, they differ on many ends, and instead of having this hinder on the relationship, the show speaks to friends everywhere that these differences are strengths to cherish.

Wednesday Likes It Solo, But Ends Up With A Lot Of Friends

More often than not, Wednesday cherishes her dark and alone moments, working better with her own company and not minding the solo quality time (excluding Thing’s constant presence in her life).

For the most part, and as Animazing_Aubrey puts it in the meme, Wednesday likes being an isolated island. Nevertheless, she still manages to make friends in her own way. This funny meme speaks to introverts in general and confirms there is nothing wrong with solo time to recharge, but to always keep in mind that being alone doesn’t necessarily mean one needs to be lonely.

Wednesday’s Solo Mood Isn’t Always A Happy One

Even though she likes her alone time, Wednesday, at some points, is seen as feeling lonely, especially when Enid had enough of not feeling like their friendship was reciprocated and ends up leaving her shared room with Wednesday.

In the “mood” meme, Wednesday portrays anyone who feels guilty for pushing away a friend under the excuse that “they are better off on their own.” As the previous meme confirms, alone time is important, but not at the cost of losing good genuine connections and real loyal friendships.

Wednesday Still Has Emotions

Throughout the show, Wednesday is mostly poker-faced until her uncle, who she takes after most, shows up unexpectedly. Her face is expressionless for most parts of the show, but Wednesday’s actions almost contradict her appearance.

As this Redditor puts it in a meme with Wednesday Addams’ character from previous adaptations, she may look angry and moody most of the time, like a lot of people who have that expression about them, but Wednesday is filled with an array of emotions towards friends, family members, and even schoolmates who she almost sacrifices her life for.

First Boyfriend Feels And Experience

An important part of the show depicts Wednesday navigating her first crush, first kiss, and first disappointment; as she hilariously puts it, “I guess I have a pattern” when discovering the true nature of Tyler.

And true to any teenager her age, she doesn’t seem quite sure of what she wants or who she prefers. This is what makes EcoFriendlyHat meme all the more funny, as most teenagers her age also do get lost in their own feelings, leading them to send mixed signals in the beginning.

Wednesday Is True To Her Word

Tim Burton’s Wednesday is the latest of many movies created in honor of the Addams family since their original creation by cartoonist Charles Addams for the New Yorker in 1938.

Wednesday’s psychic ability and visions are perfectly portrayed in the meme by K0nstantine. It dives back to an earlier version of the Addams family daughter, whose quote mirrors the current villain of the series. The meme speaks to mystery shows in general, when the villain truly goes unnoticed and appears as normal as anyone else within the show until uncovered.

The Woe Of Every Episode

“Wednesday’s child is full of woe”; the saying from Kathie Jo Johnson’s book pretty much sums up the whole Netflix series, and Wednesday’s character as a whole, dark and fascinated by all things’ death.

However, the funny meme brings up the titles of every episode of the show, including the word woe, mirroring both Wednesday’s personality, the poem’s definition of a Wednesday’s child, and the Addams family description as a whole, since they thrive on grief and darkness.
