As thousands of people hit the roads this Thanksgiving, AAA is asking drivers to ensure their vehicles are prepared. AAA anticipates helping about 400,000 stranded drivers nationwide during the holiday weekend. Gassing up before we get on the road,” Costello said.Edward Hickey, AAA’s fleet operations manager in Baltimore, Maryland, said everyone should prepare their car before traveling.”Make sure your tire pressure is up. In the cold weather, it will go down. Make sure your windshield wipers are good. Make sure you have your washer fluid. I recommend carrying an extra bottle of washer fluid with you,” Hickey said.And, while on the road, officials remind drivers to be careful.”Keep your eyes on the road. Please, if somebody’s on the side of the road, slow down and move over,” Hickey said.Also, every vehicle should be equipped with a well-stocked emergency kit that includes a mobile phone and car charger, a flashlight with extra batteries and a First-Aid kit.
