Alvvays have announced their new album. The follow-up to 2017’s Antisocialites is called Blue Rev and it’s out October 7 (via Polyvinyl/Transgressive). Check out the first single, “Pharmacist,” below.
The album was recorded with Shawn Everett and new members, drummer Sheridan Riley and bassist Abbey Blackwell. The album’s press release notes that Alvvays began writing the album shortly after the release of Antisocialites, but, in the ensuing years, they had a recorder full of demos stolen and a basement full of gear nearly ruined in a flood. They also had their rehearsals delayed by months due to border closures.
Alvvays will head out on a tour of the United States this fall.
