Cases of bottled water will be distributed by the city of Jackson Tuesday afternoon. Jackson officials said progress is being made in restoring water pressure at the O.B. Curtis Water Plant, but it will be a few more days before a boil-water notice is lifted.The notice was issued Friday on top of a water conservation notice that was already in place. City officials said Monday that if all goes well, water pressure could be fully restored and the boil-water alert lifted before the end of the week.The water distribution will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the entrance of Grove Park at 1940 Queensroad Avenue. There is a limit of one case of water per vehicle, while supplies last. “The city plans to have a distribution site available every day until water pressure is restored,” city officials said in a news release. “We are working to accommodate our elderly and disabled residents as resources allow.”City officials said they are not able to deliver water to homes. Potable water is available at any of the city’s fire stations. Drinkable water will also be available at the Sykes Community Center. Residents are asked to bring a container for the water.
