Captain Jason Chambers is known for his handsome good looks in Below Deck Down Under, and fans love looking at all his great Instagram pictures. Below Deck Down Under season 1 is almost over, and viewers are loving this new Below Deck franchise. Set in Australia, the Below Deck Down Under crew takes their charter guests around the Great Barrier Reef, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
At the helm of My Thalassa is Captain Jason, who became one of the youngest leaders in the Below Deck franchise. Despite his young age, he has proven his leadership skills as he dealt with insubordination and unmotivated crew during his debut season. For the first time in Below Deck history, Captain Jason fired both Chef Ryan McKeown and third stew Magda Ziomek at the same time for failing to step up in their roles.
One of Captain Jason’s favorite things to do in Below Deck Down Under is take the guests on underwater excursions around the Great Barrier Reef. Captain Jason, who is a certified scuba diver, also makes sure that his crew gets to experience the wonders of the sea along with him and the guests. Chief stew Aesha Scott also had her diving certification and was ecstatic when the captain invited her along during an outing.
Captain Jason Takes His Guests Snorkeling
In a recent Below Deck Down Under episode, Captain Jason took his charter guests snorkeling in Manta Ray Bay, Hook Island. They were able to see beautiful coral reefs and swim right next to colorful parrotfish. The primary charter guest, Jourdi Bleu, couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful they were and called the trip “epic.” Jason captured the breathtaking moment in his Instagram post.
Captain Jason With His Deck Crew
Captain Jason shows Below Deck Down Under fans that he can take his captain hat off and sit back with the crew. In a previous episode, he enjoyed a beer with his deck crew Brittini Burton and Culver Bradbury. The three My Thalassa crew members all donned mullet wigs from a previous themed party they threw for the guests. Below Deck Down Under viewers loved this bonding moment between the captain and his deck crew.
Captain Jason And His Daughter
Captain Jason opened up in Below Deck Down Under about his seven-year-old daughter, Saskia, who lives in the Philippines and whom he hadn’t been able to see for over a year due to COVID-19 border restrictions. In a touching Instagram photo, Captain Jason and Saskia are gazing at each other lovingly. Captain Jason shared how hard it was for him to leave his daughter for long periods at a time. He acknowledged this with the caption, “Life of a captain/father. Work leave work leave heart full heart empty. Only thing to work for is your family’s happiness. Being a parent delivers such a purpose that’s never for your own needs…” Below Deck Down Under fans have loved getting to know Captain Jason this season and can’t wait for him to share more of his life on his Instagram feed.
