Couple travels hours to deliver packages after they say they caught a delivery driver dumping them
THROWING PACKAGES OUT OF THE VAN IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROAD. THE COUPLE TELLS ME THAT’S WHEN THEY TOOK ACTION. >> I’VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT BEFORE IN MY LIFE. ASHLEY TRISTEN RAISCH SAYS SHE : SAW A REAL-LIFE GRINCH THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY FOR THE HOLIDAY. >> AS WE TURNED ON THE ROAD, I SEE THE PANIC LIGHTS ON AND I WAS LIKE WHAT’S GOING ON, RIGHT ? AND THEN I SEE HIM WITH THE DOOR OPEN AND I WATCHED HIM THROW OVER A TO PACKAGE. I TOLD HIM I THINK IT’S A TRASH BAG. HE’S LIKE SHOULD I TURN AROUND ? I WAS LIKE WELL YEA. ASHLEY THEY SAY A DELIVERY : DRIVER WAS ON ROUTE 4 HEADED IN A MARKED COMPANY TRUCK WAS ON ROUTE 4 HEADED TOWARDS CARLISLE, AND THEY SAW HIM THROWING PACKAGES OVER THE GUARDRAIL. >> I MEAN THERE WAS FLOWERS, SOMEBODY’S FLOWERS, LIKE THAT BROKE MY HEART BECAUSE IT COULD BE FOR ANYTHING. FUNERAL FLOWERS. 31. THAT’S EXPENSIVE. PIONEER WOMAN POTS AND PANS. ASHLEY RAISCH SENT HER FIANCE TO : GO GET THE PACKAGES WHICH WERE ABOUT 10 TO 15 FEET OVER THE BRIDGE. THEY KNEW, THEY HAD TO MAKE SURE THE ITEMS GOT TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS, ZACHARY ARMWINE/WITNESS >> IT’S CHRISTMAS TIME AND EVERYBODY’S STRUGGLING NOWADAYS , SO IT’S HARD FOR EVERYBODY. >> FROM MIAMISBURGH TO GERMANTOWN TO MIDDLETOWN THE COUPLE TELLS ME THEY DROVE A COUPLE OF HOURS MAKING SURE THE PACKAGES WERE PLACED IN THE RIGHT HANDS. >> I WOULD WANT SOMEBODY ELSE TO DO IT SO. >> I’VE ALWAYS BEEN KIND-HEARTED AND I THOUGHT THAT WAS RIGHT TO DO. ASHLEY: WE REACHED OUT TO SEVERAL PEOPLE WHOM THEY DELIVERED THE PACKAGES TO. ONE MAN SAYS HE WAS GRATEFUL FOR THE COUPLE’S EFFORTS, BUT SAYS HE IS STILL MISSING $300 WORTH OF

A trip home from the holidays was halted for one family. Tristen Raisch and Zachary Armwine said they stumbled upon a strange act: a delivery driver whose destination was not what you would think.”He had the door wide open, and we were doing a little creep on him. He was throwing boxes out, so we drove up to the next road and we turned and waited ’til, like, he was already pulling off, so pulled off and popped a , and when I got out, there was a bunch of boxes laid out,” Armwine said.A number of packages were tossed onto the side of the road.”I mean, there was flowers, somebody’s flowers, like, that broke my heart, because it could’ve been for anything, funeral flowers. Flowers, 31, that’s expensive, Pioneer Woman pots and pans,” Raisch said. With phone numbers and addresses on the packages, the couple decided to jump into action. From Miamisburgh, Ohio, to Germantown to Middletown, they drove a couple of hours, making sure the packages were placed in the right hands. “The Pioneer Woman pots and pans, that owner said that he ordered $300 worth of tools that he never — that was supposed to be delivered as well — that we didn’t find,” Raisch said. Why didn’t they just call the police?”We thought that if we did call police, it would go to the Post Office and it would sit there, and nobody would ever get it, so we decided to take it upon ourselves and deliver it ourselves,” Armwine said. The couple says everyone they delivered to did call the delivery company to complain, but they worry the driver may strike again.”I hope they get caught because that’s wrong for this time of year,” Armwine said.Sister station WLWT is not naming the delivery company, but they did reach out to the company for comment and they have not responded.
