Hinds County School District superintendent retiring after a decade of service

Dr. Delesicia Martin retiring effective June 30

Hinds County School District superintendent Dr. Delesicia Martin is retiring from public education after 27 years of service. Dr. Martin served as superintendent for the Hinds County School District beginning in December 2013.Martin has worked in the district for 23 years in several administrative positions, which include serving as an Assistant Principal at Terry High School, Principal at Raymond High School, Director of Student Services, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent at the Central Office level.Dr. Martin is retiring from the district effective June 30, 2023.
