Since their debut in Seeking Sister Wife season 3, fans have been behind Dannielle Merrifield as she never got the right treatment from her husband, Garrick Merrifield, but there’s proof that she could be worse than he is. He fully knows Dannielle’s jealousy problems, yet he expects her to get over it. In seasons 3 and 4 of Seeking Sister Wife, the Merrifields dated Roberta Pache. Garrick often rubbed his romance with her on his wife’s face. Although things fizzled out with Roberta, Garrick hasn’t changed even in Seeking Sister Wife season 5. Lately, cracks have started showing in Dannielle, thus presenting her true colors of who she is. Dannielle has tried acting like she is on board with her husband’s need to have a sister wife, yet she seems to have an ulterior motive.

Danielle and Garrick were a monogamous couple for 11 years before trying the plural lifestyle, and it is pretty evident that’s not the life Dannielle wanted to lead. Garrick claimed God told him he’d have more wives. Dannielle agreed and even divorced Garrick so that he’d marry Roberta, a Brazilian woman he met online. Although Dannielle claimed she felt connected to her, she was also jealous of how close Garrick and Roberta were becoming. Eventually, their relationship ended when the Merrifields tried dating another woman called Lea Newton before Roberta arrived in the U.S.

In season 5 of Seeking Sister Wife, the Merrifields are dating a new woman named Nathalia. Reddit fans quickly noticed that Dannielle could be more cunning than she pretends to be. The Redditor noted that not only was Dannielle calculative but also smarter than she presented herself. The fans said that Dannielle wasn’t looking forward to having a sister wife in her marriage and only went along with the idea so that she could let Garrick think he was getting his way.

However, there have been instances whereby Dannielle showed her vulnerable self and could no longer put on a brave face, trying to preserve the facade of a happy marriage. During one of the episodes of Seeking Sister Wife season 5, Dannielle expressed her fear of adding another partner to their icky marriage, noting that she didn’t trust Nathalia. She blamed her issues on Roberta, who left them via text (via TLC).

“When you trust somebody with all your heart and then they trample it it’s just I’ve never had that feeling before, ever and that is devastating. I just like it was so hard for me to divorce Garrick, but I did it because I trusted that she loved me and that she cared about me and that she wouldn’t hurt me, and she did.”

Dannielle Is Not A Likable Person

She’s Shown Her True Colors

Dannielle turned from victim to enabler, becoming her manipulative husband’s wingperson. She has a couple of weird, fluctuating feelings of jealousy and often pretends to be excited about her husband’s need to get a sister wife, but in reality, she isn’t in for the idea. In one episode, Nathalia confronted Garrick about deleting the dating apps after he had reassured her he would.

The Seeking Sister Wife star had told Nathalia he had stopped searching for another partner until she found him listed as “available” on the dating app. During the confrontation, Danielle stated that Garrick wouldn’t have left the dating sites had she asked him to do so. Dannielle also noted that she had previously asked him to delete the dating applications before meeting Nathalia, but he refused (via TLC).

“I asked you to do that months ago, and you wouldn’t do it. You were like why, we’re going to be searching for other wives, and now you’re just like no problem, I’ll delete it.”

Are The Merrifields Still Together In 2024?

Their Relationship Has Been Through A Lot

The Merrifields tried again after splitting from Roberta and are currently courting another South American woman, Nathalia. Garrick and his wife Dannielle seem to be on different pages regarding how they want the relationship to proceed, with Dannielle feeling that Garrick is rushing to propose to Nathalia. In any case, Garrick went ahead and asked Nathalia to marry him. He said some of his obnoxiously memorized lines in Portuguese that were still insufficient and had used the translator while presenting the ring.

Dannielle and Garrick are still together, but it is uncertain if the Merrifields are still with Nathalia. According to Distractify, there are signs of a potential breakup as Nathalia never relocated to the United States and has embarked on a journey as a lawyer in Brazil.
